Is Justin Edison really missing?
TMZ reported that Justin Edison, the bodyguard of Megan Thee Stallion, who is a key figure in the Tory Lanez trial, is technically not missing. The Los Angeles Police Department told the newspaper there is no missing person case against Megan’s bodyguard.
According to an updated report from the outlet, “That doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t been found at this point, but his reported disappearance simply hasn’t reached the level where police have to classify him as such. We have also reached out to the district attorney’s office for comment…no response yet.”
TMZ first reported that Justin had allegedly vanished into thin air, and police have reportedly been working the case since December 17, 2022. The Shad Room, which broke the news, previously reported that another source familiar with the situation insists that Justin’s own lawyer has not heard from him since Thursday.
The entertainment outlet quoted Megan Thea Stallion’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, as saying Justin had disappeared: “We recently learned that Justin Edison disappeared just before he was due to appear in court. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating his disappearance and any information on his whereabouts is welcome.”
ABC 7 reported that police are looking for Edison, although this report is based on a quote from a lawyer.
Justin was scheduled to testify in the trial of Lanez, who is accused of shooting Megan in the legs after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in 2020. Tory has pleaded not guilty to discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle.
No further details about Edison’s disappearance were immediately released. This comes after former best friend and assistant Megan Thea Stallion testified on Thursday.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, could face more than 22 years in prison if convicted on all counts. He too could be deported to his native Canada.
