The wife of the late UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar is Andrea Brown Bonnar. By mixed martial arts Fandom, the couple exchanged their wedding vows on October 30, 2009 in Tuscany, Italy. The couple preferred to keep the details of their relationship out of the limelight and spoke very little about it.
Just one day before their first anniversary, Andrea tweeted: “Dilemma. Saturday is my anniversary. Do I need to plan something special? Or go to work out, then lie on the couch and complain about how it hurts?”
In March 2022, the Bonnar family experienced tragedy after a fire devastated their Nevada home. According to a TMZ report, the house fire was reported to the Henderson Fire Department on Monday, March 28 around 3 p.m.
“When help arrived on the scene, fire and smoke could be seen outside the home,” TMZ reported. “Due to high winds and the proximity of neighboring homes, the first team called Clark County FD for help extinguishing the fire. The fire was extinguished after almost an hour.”
According ATM, The cause of the fire is unknown. Bonnar’s wife confirmed the report, taking it to social media via a post: “Just popped in to let you know our house burned down today and we lost everything.” They started a GoFundMe with a goal of $10,000 in support.

For his pivotal victory over Forrest Griffin in the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Stephan Bonnar, a retired mixed martial artist, was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2013. Stephan received a six-figure contract for the fight. and competed 15 times for promotion. He competed in the UFC in eight bouts, going 7-8, defeating Keith Jardine, Sam Hoger and Krzysztof Soszynski while losing to well-known opponents such as Rashad Evans, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.
In his last fight inside the Octagon, Silva defeated him via first-round TKO in October 2012. He competed in another professional mixed martial arts bout at Bellator 131, against former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. His loss was by split decision.
On December 22, 2022, Stephan tragically passed away, shocking his fans. The UFC believes his cause of death was likely cardiac complications while he was working, but that has yet to be confirmed. In October 2021, Stephan revealed in an interview that he “suffered an infected abscess on both sides of a broken vertebra that he said he suffered during a professional wrestling match.”
The infection left him in the hospital for more than a month. And according to the fighter, if the staph infection had not been treated, it could have been fatal.
“When [the doctor] he said it like that, it’s really, like, wow, I was surprised, like, here I am again,” Bonnar told the outlet. “I’m almost, like, fucking dead here. How did this happen? I got to where I was hurt and a week later I tried to go to the ER and they knocked me down and I was very upset about it. But in the meantime, I’ve got all this staph, and yeah, it really is potentially fatal, and you don’t even think about it. You’re upset that you couldn’t get treatment at the hospital, you didn’t even know what you needed treatment for.”
