A motorcyclist whose leg was broken by former Manchester United player Nicky Butt in a car crash says it cost him his job and claims the star never apologised.
Former England ace Butt, 49, was told last week that he faces a prison sentence for causing grievous bodily harm by careless driving.

But despite claims in court that he had shown remorse, Honda driver Adam, 30, said: “I haven’t heard anything from Nicky Butt.
“If I knocked someone off my bike, I would make sure that person was taken care of from the moment they got home.
“I would go shopping for them and make sure they were all right, but I haven’t heard a word from him.”
The court heard Butt’s concentration lapses as he exited the intersection after picking up his son from Burnley FC’s training ground at 8.10pm on October 17, 2022.
The shaken midfielder, now chief executive of League Two Salford City, covered his mouth with his hand as bystanders comforted Adam until paramedics arrived.
He needed an operation to insert a metal rod into his disfigured limb and spent ten months on crutches.
Adam developed a blood clot and needs medication for the rest of his life. The devastating injury also meant he had to leave his job as a Screwfix store manager.
Last week, Butt’s lawyer told Blackburn magistrates that his client had “clearly shown remorse” in the letter.
However, it is not clear whether this was an apology to the court or to Adam.

Adam told the Sun: “He never spoke to me or wrote me a letter.
“Or if he did, I didn’t see it. If I had put someone through all this, I would have done everything possible to help. He did me serious damage, and I never fully recovered from my injuries.
“His lawyers may have advised him not to make direct contact.”
‘I haven’t heard from him’
Adam, from Burnley, spent two weeks in hospital.
He added: “While I was there Nicky Butt asked the police if he could contact me and I agreed but I haven’t heard from him.”
About his work, Adam said: “Screwfix was very good to me, but after 13 months it was clear that I wasn’t going to be able to do the job.

“It’s quite physically demanding and I couldn’t do it anymore.
“My life changed drastically very quickly.”
Adam says he doesn’t remember anything about the accident or the immediate aftermath. He hasn’t driven a motorcycle since then.
He added: “Allegedly, at the scene, Butt was very concerned, he put his hands up and accepted it was his fault and said he didn’t see me. I just don’t know how he didn’t see me.
“I have nothing against him because I know he didn’t intentionally knock me off the bike.
“I went through a series of emotions regarding him.
“When my leg hurts, I get angry at him and what happened. I am fine walking short distances, but long walks can cause pain. I’m taking painkillers and I have to elevate my foot because it’s swelling.”
Butt, who lives in a £1.7 million mansion in Bowdon, Cheshire, first appeared for a voluntary police interview on December 1, 2023.
He admitted last week that he caused serious injuries by careless driving.
He was told he faces up to two years in prison or an unlimited fine when he is sentenced on June 21.
Butt was also given a temporary driving ban.

Prosecutor Graeme Tindall said: “There appears to have been a number of vehicles passing what appears to be a HGV.
“Mr Butt misses a lorry, pulls out and then Mr Fielding passes on a motorcycle.”
John Dye, defending the footballer, said: “Mr Butt tried to help and he clearly showed remorse in the letter he sent.”
Adam did not make a victim impact statement at the hearing.
Lancashire Police last night said it was in the process of writing one.
Butt, who has two children from his marriage to ex Shelley Barlow, was a key member of United’s famous class of 92 – rising alongside pals David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Gary and Phil Neville.
Butt helped the Old Trafford club win countless trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup treble in 1999.
By the time he left in 2004, he had helped United win six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League.
Butt later played for Newcastle and Birmingham City. In 2014, he bought Salford City along with Giggs, the Nevilles and Paul Scholes.
He was also Manchester United’s first team development manager from 2019 to 2021.
