ANI shared a video where he is seen touching his mother’s feet after being named. “Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi seeks blessings from his mother Rajni Tripathi before taking over as the new Chief of the Indian Navy,” the news agency wrote.

In the video, the naval commander walks towards his mother, sitting in the audience. As he reached her, he bowed and touched her feet. In response, mom hugs him and kisses his forehead.
Tripathi was the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff before taking up the service. In his 40-year-long career, he performed several important tasks, and today, April 30, he assumed a new position.

He was a student of Sainik School, Rewa and National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, on 1 July 1985 he was commissioned into the Indian Navy. The Admiral graduated from the Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, where he was awarded the Thimmaiya Medal. He also attended the Naval Higher Command Course and Naval Command College at the US Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Islands, 2007-2008, where he won the prestigious Robert E Bateman International Award.
Navy Chief Admiral Tripathi is a recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and the Nausen Medal for devotion to duty. He is also a keen sportsman and follows tennis, badminton and cricket avidly.
