As temperatures rise across the country, people are turning to ice cream to beat the heat. In Mumbai, a resident took it to a whole new level by ordering more than 300 ice creams in just 45 days. Yes, you read that right!

Swiggy also revealed in its latest report that demand for ice creams has grown by 16% compared to the previous year as the country battles rising temperatures. Among the frozen delicacies, chocolate is still the most popular flavor, followed by the summer fruit – mango. Other flavors that have secured a place in the top league include tender coconut, almond and the timeless classic vanilla.

While Mumbai placed the most orders for fruit-based ice creams, Hyderabad preferred nut-laden ice creams.
Between March 1 and April 15, more than 6.9 lakh ice cream orders were placed on Swiggy from 7 pm to midnight and around 4.6 lakh orders were placed between 11 am to 4 pm.
Bengaluru, which is currently facing a heat wave, enjoys ice cream for breakfast. A total of 80,000 ice creams were ordered from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the said period, and Bengaluru is in first place.
The report also celebrates the different preferences of ice cream lovers, with scoops being the preferred choice over a single scoop. Favorites include chocolate, mango, tender coconut and sitaphal, which cater to a wide range of tastes.
In addition, health fans have been ordering vegan and guilt-free ice creams amid the sweltering heat, with a 70% increase compared to last year.
The report also revealed famous ice cream parlors, with Naturals Ice Cream topping the popularity chart in metro cities. Most of the orders came from Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Cream Stone Ice Cream is a favorite in Hyderabad followed by NIC Ice Creams due to its wide availability in metros and tier two cities.
