They use various means, from hacking into their social networks to seeking the help of matchmakers or creating profiles on matrimonial websites. “That’s next level matchmaking! Maybe I should start crying over my dating tax returns. Who said a W-2 can be a love letter?” he announced the individual.

Another added: “It makes sense. You have to pay a premium for high-quality leads.”

“One of the family members did the same…He paid 2.5 L for Rishita from UHNI. It took the girl six months to find her soul mate. If I am not mistaken, they have been happily married for the past 6 years and have two children,” said a third.

A fourth commented: “I know about this matchmaking! My neighbor got married with the help of such a setup. She married into this super rich family. But they also spent about 3-4 crores on weddings alone!”

“Very normal. This fee is the filter to get the crème de la crème. The matchmaker’s fee is usually 1-2 percent of the total cost of the wedding. For example – a wedding costing 1 crore rupees would easily fetch the broker 1-2 lakh rupees. This is then matched against the initial fee paid,” said a fifth.
