Man claims he and his co-passengers struggled for water on train. Indian Railways reacts

User X Abhinav Singh shared a post on the microblogging platform claiming that he and his fellow passengers had problems accessing drinking water during a recent train journey. He also shared a video showing a staff member motioning for Singh to leave as he asks for water in a bottle.

“The struggle for water in Indian Railways is real. I was not alone, five other people were looking for water. I wanted to break the door fir ek ne bottle laake diya (I wanted to break the door and then one person got bottles)! Pathetic,” Singh wrote and tagged the official account of Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd.

Singh also shared two visuals. One video shows him asking for water from the railway staff, who dismiss Singh with his gesture. The second photo shows two people holding bottles of water.

Indian Railways reacted to the announcement with a standardized response. “Sir, we regret the experience you had. I request you to share PNR and mobile number,” they wrote.

“I faced the same problem a few weeks ago. There is no water after 11 p.m.,” expressed the fifth.

A few months ago, X user Rajendra Kumbhat shared a post on the microblogging platform claiming that there was a problem with the design of bottle holders in Indian Railways trains. “Do you know @AshwiniVaishnaw water bottles (including those supplied by Indian Railways to passengers on certain premium trains) do not fit in bottle holders installed by Indian Railways?” he tweeted, tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
