A dog’s loyalty knows no bounds. The image of a loyal dog waiting on the pier has touched the hearts of Thai people.
The dog appeared to be waiting for its owner to return after she fell off the boat she was living in and had been waiting in the same spot for almost a month.
Facebook user Thanawan Thongporn posted a photo on Facebook with the dog’s story in the hope that she can help the dog find an owner.
Thanawan captioned the photo and explained: “‘I’m lonely.’ She is waiting for her owner, she fell from the boat and has been living at Rama V jetty for almost a month now.
She is very smart and sweet. They feed her every morning and after she’s done, she always comes back and sits in this place like this… as if she were looking for the boat she was in.”
She added: “I feel sorry for the dog. Someone adopted her. I would do that if my house had room for another dog. Or I hope it will soon be reunited with its owner. Every time I see her like this, I cry.”
Many locals have shared the post and are searching for the missing dogs posted online along with a photo of the dog at the pier. Thanawan also posted an update in the comments saying that someone had offered to adopt the dog.
And not long after that, “Sugar”, as the dog is now, was actually adopted. Now he has a new loving home. She lives well in a big house with a loving family.
I’m glad Thanawan took the initiative to help Sugar. Lonely dog is no longer lonely!
