IndiGo pilot flies grandfather for the first time: ‘I travelled on his TVS many times, now my turn to give him a ride’

Touching scenes took place recently on an Indigo flight from Chennai to Coimbatore, when the pilot announced that his grandparents and mother were among the passengers on that flight.

Pradeep Krishnan, an Indigo pilot, who regularly posts clips of his air travel on Instagram, shared a heartwarming moment when he welcomed his family on a flight to Chennai.

In a special announcement before take-off, Krishnan addressed the passengers.

“I am very happy to announce that my family is traveling with me. My taatha, paati, Amma are sitting in the 29th row. My grandfather is flying with me for the first time today,” he told the passengers in a mixture of Tamil and English.

“I’ve traveled in the backseat of his TVS50 so many times, now it’s my turn to drive him.”

His mother was seen wiping her tears.

The pilot encouraged the passengers to greet his grandfather, who stood up in his seat and folded his arms to greet everyone in the cabin. Passengers who witnessed the touching moment applauded.

“My biggest flex. Flying with my family and friends is every pilot’s dream,” Krishnan wrote on Instagram, sharing the video.

The moment thrilled the users of social networks.

“They are so proud of you Pradeep,” Tamil TV host Anitha Sampath wrote in the comments.

Pradeep Krishnan drove his mother and grandmother on their first flight of 2018 and the video that went viral touched the nerves of the internet.

Before take off, the pilot approached his mother and grandmother who were sitting on the flight and asked for their blessings by touching their feet. Krishnan’s mother and grandmother reportedly vowed not to travel by plane until the pilot himself could fly them. The flight from Chennai to Singapore was their first and they had been waiting for the opportunity for six to seven years.
