Why didn’t Ankur Jain get married in space?
“My first marriage proposal to Erika was a space wedding,” Ankur Jain, founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards, told People. So why the change of venue? It turns out that it was Erika Hammond who turned down a space wedding. “I thought, ‘I don’t want to die on my wedding day!'” she told the outlet.

Therefore, they made a compromise and chose Egypt, where they got married in front of the pyramids, and the wedding was conducted by the world’s most prominent Egyptologist, Dr. Zahi Hawass, reports People.
Why Egypt as their wedding destination?
According to a source, Jain first visited the country as a child and had a “magical experience”. He chose the country as his wedding destination to get the chance to “share his love of ancient history” with his bride. “I’m obsessed with ancient history and society,” Jain told People.
“The pyramids are simply insane to see. You are speechless. I can’t believe this is even part of our civilization,” Hammond later added.
Two days ago, Jain took to Instagram to share the news of his wedding with the world. “I love you. 4/26/2024 Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us!!! And @zahi_hawass for marrying us!! Lots more photos and memories from the wedding to come. It was the most amazing few days. And thanks to all the people who made our wedding possible,” he wrote in his post. The couple also shared several videos and pictures from their celebrations on social media.
