Your approval rating in Manor Lords is mostly self-explanatory: it’s a representation of how much your population likes what you do and how you run your kingdom. Your approval rating is directly related to your population growth, so you can’t afford to ignore it and risk everyone leaving your city. There are several ways to increase your approval rating that you should tackle in general order as you grow and gather resources.
Step 1: Your first job must be to secure enough housing plots for the entire population. Being homeless in Manor Lords, just like in real life, won’t make people very happy. Give everyone a home and you’ll easily get an approval boost.
Step 2: Next, build a fresh water well and make sure you hunt and gather enough food and fuel to meet your needs.
Step 3: From here things get a little more difficult to understand, but you can see what will help you increase your approval rating by looking at any building plot and seeing the requirements to upgrade it to level 2. Completing each of these will also help raise your approval rating. That includes:
- Construction of a wooden church and later extension.
- Building a market and securing resources for the supply of various goods. The more different types of food available, the better.
- Building a tavern when you have a supply of barley to supply.
- Keep taxes low or eliminate them.
- Build a corpse pit to dispose of dead bodies.
