However, sometimes we need to set aside a little extra pocket money every month. And one of the first things to start is monthly subscriptions. We know it stinks, but that doesn’t mean your Spotify account has to disappear forever.

How to delete your Spotify account with support
Once Spotify Premium is cancelled, you can officially delete your Spotify account. Again, to do this, visit Spotify’s support page. Due to the high number of cancellations, this page may ask you to send a message to the customer support team. Ignore it and click Send a message button. A support bot will appear at the bottom of the screen to help you.
Step 1: type in the support field close my account When finished, click on Proceed with closing/cancelling my account the option shown by the bot.
Step 2: Next click on closed account the link that the bot sends you. Answer why you want to cancel, then confirm that you can indeed access the email on file. Finally, choose I understand and a request to close your account will be sent to you by email.
Step 3: Look for the email from Spotify and click Close my account connection. Clicking this link will turn off and close your Spotify forever. The link is valid for 24 hours. If you do not click the link, after 24 hours you will have to go through the process again.
Note that you will also receive a seven day grace period. If you want to reactivate your Spotify, this will come as a link in a separate email after you’ve finished canceling.

Delete your Spotify account manually
If you’ve recently created your account and aren’t a long-time Spotify subscriber, chances are you won’t be directed to a support bot to cancel your Spotify. Instead, you’ll be taken straight to the account cancellation page. You’ll still need to cancel your Spotify premium service first, but once you’ve done that, you can follow the steps below.
Step 1: On the Spotify account closure page, click Closed account button. It will be a five step process. To begin, confirm your information and click Continue.
Step 2: Next, check I understand framework. This warns you that you will lose all your music, podcasts, playlists, followers and username. An email will be sent to your email address associated with Spotify.
Step 3: Check your email for something from Spotify. Click on Close my account link in the email to permanently close your Spotify account. You will receive a confirmation email, and if you want to reopen your account, you can do so within seven days via the link in the confirmation.
