Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, 36, from Newham, has now been charged with murder.

The dual Spanish-Brazilian national will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

He was also charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed object.

The families of all those affected have been informed, Scotland Yard said.

HORROR ATTACK

The horror unfolded shortly before 7am on Tuesday when a van plowed into a house in Laing Close.

The suspect was reportedly seen roaming the streets armed with a huge sword.

Neighbors said they shouted at Daniel as the attacker approached, but because he was wearing headphones he didn’t hear them.

When he turned around, he slashed him across the face with a sword and “didn’t stand a chance,” according to one witness.

Aiste Dabasinskaaite, who watched it happen, told The Mirror: “My instinct was to shout and wave at him, which I and a neighbor did, but because he had just put his headphones on I don’t think any of the our.

“It was a moment where we just went from shouting to emptiness, emptiness.”

Approximately 22 minutes later, the suspect was Tasered and arrested before being placed under police guard at the hospital.

My instinct was to shout and wave at him, which my neighbor and I did, but since he had just put his headphones on, I don’t think he heard us.

Daniel was also taken to the hospital, but unfortunately he could not be saved and died soon after.

Tributes poured in for Daniel, who was the youngest of three children from a local church-going Nigerian family.

His mother Grace Anjorin (49) is a science professor, while his father Dr Ebenezer Anjorin (59) works as a health and safety consultant.

Daniel’s heartbroken family paid tribute to the “wonderful child” on Wednesday, saying his loss “leaves a gaping wound in the family”.

They told Sky News: “No family should have to go through what we are going through today. Every family will understand that this is an absolute tragedy.”

Family friend Janti Charalambous, whose son was the same year as Daniel at Snaresbrook Primary School, said at the scene: “Daniel was an amazing young man.

“He was good at studies. He was good at sports. He was loved by many, many people and he came from a wonderful family.

“The family is in shock. They are obviously very heartbroken. He was such a young boy taken away from his family.

“What can we say? It’s sad that this happened in a family, in a community like this. It’s heartbreaking.

“At least they got their time for Daniel, 14.”

Daniel’s mum works at Holy Family Catholic School in Walthamstow, East London.

The school released a statement on its website saying: “Mrs Anjorin’s son was taken from this life suddenly this morning on his way to school. Please pray for Mrs Anjorin, her husband and their other children.”

SOCCER FAN

A football-mad Arsenal fan, Daniel attended Bancroft School in nearby Woodford Green from the age of seven.

A friend of the schoolboy described him as a “very good person” who excelled at maths, loved football and supported Arsenal.

Friend Cyan Thompson, 19, told the Independent: “I’m a lot older but Daniel was better than me at maths. I was planning to play football with him later today but it’s not going to happen.

“He was like the main Messi, he could pass me very easily. He was small but very nervous. He was a very determined guy. I support Man City, he supports Arsenal, it was a good rivalry.”

Tragically, the £24,990-a-year private school is the same institution attended by Nottingham rampage victim Grace O’Malley-Kumar.

The flag at the school was lowered to half-mast yesterday.

The school said: “He was a true scholar, demonstrating commendable dedication to his academic endeavours. His positive nature and gentle character will leave a lasting impact on us.”

The police confirmed that two police officers suffered serious injuries, while two citizens were also treated in hospital.

A GoFundMe page set up by a friend of Daniel’s brother Joshua has reached £5,000.

The note reads: “Daniel Anjorin was a much loved boy in the local community who was always full of happiness and joy and was well loved by everyone he came across.

“On April 30, while he was going to school, he was mercilessly attacked and unfortunately died from his injuries.

“He was only in year 9 and was a much loved student at Bancrofts in Woodford. He meant so much to so many people and he will be sorely missed.

“I would like to raise money for his family on behalf of his family as his brother is one of my close friends to help with the cost of everything so please donate whatever you can. It would be greatly appreciated!”

POLICE OFFICER’S REQUEST

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said one policewoman nearly lost her arm in the attack.

“The surgeon spent many, many hours actually reattaching her arm,” he said.

Speaking about the victim, Sir Mark said: “The first thing you have to say is for the parents involved, who lost their 14-year-old, it’s just horrible, and it’s everyone’s worst nightmare. I’m sure we’re all thinking of them. “

The force ruled out terrorism and said they did not believe the attack was targeted.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident which has resulted in the loss of a boy’s life and a devastated family.

“On behalf of the family, I would ask that their privacy be respected.

“This is a complex investigation due to the number of crime scenes, forensic evidence, hours of CCTV footage and witnesses we need to speak to.

“I know many people will want answers and we are working to provide them as soon as possible.

“I would also reiterate previous calls for patience while my officers carry out a painstaking investigation to deliver justice for Daniel, his family, those injured and the wider community.

“We are starting to build a picture of what happened on Tuesday.

“I want to thank everyone who came forward to share dashcam, doorbell and cell phone footage with us.

“Also, thanks to the witnesses who were undoubtedly horrified by what they saw and who made a vital contribution to our investigation.

“Anyone who has not yet spoken to the police and has any information, please contact us as soon as possible.”

Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell said: “I would like to confirm at this time that we do not believe there is any threat to the general public and we are not looking for any other individuals.

“The incident does not appear to be related to any terrorist act.

“We do not believe this is a targeted attack and are currently determining the circumstances.”

Police are now urging anyone with information to call 101.
