GOT7 rapper and soloist Jackson Wang talked about his current album, MAGICMAN, and how it’s his most authentic. The 28-year-old showed a glimpse of his behind-the-scenes life during a behind-the-scenes photo shoot for Vogue magazine at the Head in the Clouds artist festival. The multi-talented artist talked about his challenges as a K-pop star. This time, he says that his recent release, MAGICMAN, is the “rawest” he’s ever had in his life, and it’s the only one he’s satisfied with. Jackson Wang revealed while preparing for the show,
“No matter what I’ve achieved, I’ve never been satisfied with myself.” And I believe this album (MAGICMAN) is the first time I think it’s acceptable. “I’ve never felt so raw in my life.”

GOT7’s Jackson Wang talks about his pain and how people support “the real Jackson” with his album.
Although everything seems perfect these days, Jackson Wang said in a behind-the-scenes interview with Vogue that he’s “lost” and “depressed” after the day-to-day work of an idol.
“I was in this area for 8-9 years and I became disoriented and stuck in a rut. It’s just one thing after another, schedule after schedule, you know. “I was pretty sad.”
GOT7’s choice to leave JYP Entertainment and pursue individual endeavors (while still active as a group) has allowed him to have a fresh start. He said he wanted to be who he really is. When asked about the procedure, he said:
“I just thought, ‘You know what? Whoever I am, whoever I am, I just want to leave it all behind and start over. And I want to be myself for a moment.’ 100% me. Be honest with my audience and show them who I am.”
While acknowledging the difficult life of an artist, Jackson Wang says that there will always be fans and detractors, but he believes that everyone who has supported him in his musical journey is supporting him. for the “real Jackson”.
“You know, maybe I’m not perfect. Not everyone will love me. But at least, if you like me and support me, you’re supporting the real Jackson.”
