The federal government cut preliminary financial statements for 2018, compared to last year to 12.8 billion euros more than planned.

Berlin – A surplus of 11.2 billion euros could be placed in an extraordinary reserve for the costs of refugees, the Federal Ministry of Finance announced on Friday. An additional 1.6 billion euros also had to be drawn from the reserve differently than planned.

The Federal Government’s expenditures totaled 337.1 billion euros last year. It was HRK 6.5 billion less than in the budget. Tax revenues were, therefore, EUR 322.4 billion to EUR 1.1 billion, above expectations. The Federal Government’s investments came in at 38.1 billion euros, 1.7 billion euros less than expected.
