This was the emotional moment as Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved dogs waited outside Windsor Castle to say their final goodbyes to the Queen.
The Queen’s coffin was escorted to Windsor Castle as the final part of the procession, and was lowered into the cellar of St George’s Chapel. So, among the multitudes who wished to pay their last tribute to the beloved queen, there were Your Majesty’s corgis – Muick and Sandy.
The two dogs were brought to the front of the castle, where they were followed by two royal assistants, to say a final goodbye to the monarch! Watch the moment here:
Along with two assistants, Sandy and Muick have a chance to say their final goodbyes to their human mother, Queen Elizabeth II!
At one point, Prince Andrew – who appeared to be deeply moved by the events – even briefly visited Muick and Sandy. He and his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, gave two dogs to the Queen last year, shortly after Prince Philip passed away.
Now, following the Queen’s death, the two dogs will be adopted by the Duke and Duchess of York.
But Muick and Sandy aren’t the only royal pets to be paraded.
Another touching moment was when Queen Emma’s horse joined the crowd for a final goodbye! dogs, especially corgis, mainly because of their “wild energy and spirit”, as the late king once put it. During her more than 70 years of reign, the Queen owned more than 30 dogs.
