After leaving Walford to see her sister Little Mo, Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace) is back in the square.
However, her return leads to some tense scenes next week on BBC One as she learns that not only has her son Tommy Moon been behaving again, but her ex-husband Alfie Moon could be suffering from prostate cancer.
The beloved character soon confronts her fiance Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) about keeping secrets – could this lead to them putting their relationship on hold?
While that remains to be seen, Phil can rely on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) to encourage him.
After their conversation, Phil arrives at the taxi office with chocolates for Kat, but his attempts to reconcile are unsuccessful.
In one state, Phil rushes off to a local wine bar, Peggy’s, to be alone, but Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) barges in and asks for a G&T.
Emma left Walford in a hurry after reconnecting with her long-lost daughter Lola Pearce because she couldn’t cope with her failing health.
How will they welcome her back?
Meanwhile, at Vic, Sharon plays peacemaker between Phil and Kat by talking her friend down.
Kat finally decides to give Phil another chance and goes looking for him.
But neither will be able to count on Sharon for much longer.
When boxing promoter Dorian enthuses Sharon about the job opportunities and great lifestyle in Abu Dhabi, he suggests that moving there could secure her a lifetime.
Sharon is initially repulsed, but clearly intrigued, while in Vic, Kat announces that she and Phil are to be married next week.
