Less than 30 minutes into a four-hour journey, British passengers on a flight to Turkey drank all the alcohol on board. The incident occurred on a recent SunExpress flight, during which US-German CEO Max Kownatzki said British travelers were “more spendthrift, more hedonistic” than those from other countries. The specific airport from which the plane took off, the date, time of the flight and the number of passengers have not been disclosed.

“We sold out of beer and wine 25 minutes after departure; we haven’t done that in any other market,” Max Kownatzki told The Independent. From 2022, the Turkish airline has expanded from five to nine UK airports, almost doubling the number of locations it serves. Speaking about this fast-growing expansion, Kownatzki said: “Before that we had some select routes but nothing major. Now we’re number three behind Jet2.com and easyJet. The video of this incident was shared on X by journalist Amir Mateen. “This is what happened on a flight from Dubai to Islamabad this morning. Sent by a passenger who was left terrified during the flight: ‘The drunk guy is extremely violent.
