Posting on Twitter at 4.44am, Zoe said: “Sleep tight dear mum.

“Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy.

“And how, even in the darkest days, laughter is the greatest gift.

“We are saddened without you, but we will hold each other so tight.”

Zoe’s son Woody said: “Today I say goodbye to Grandma J, thank you for being a wonderful woman.

“The only person who always sent me a Valentine’s card.”

It comes days after Zoe revealed her mum has been moved into hospital following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Zoe returned to her BBC Radio 2 show on Wednesday last week – dedicating a Bon Jovi song to the paramedics helping Julia.

She said on the show: “Mum’s in hospice now, it’s pretty hard for the family right now.

“I just want to say thank you to John, Scarlett and Charlie, both Charlies actually, and Sophie and Laura who really look after mum.”

“Things are really hard for my mom at the moment, just sending lots of love.

“I love you mom.”

After the show, Zoe was inundated with messages of support from listeners.

In a post on Twitter, she shared a message thanking her fans alongside a photo of the jingle bell.

Zoe said: “Thank you for all your kindness. The messages, letters and cards mean the world to our mum.

“Strength and love to many families and people affected by cancer.

“I’m holding on tight and so grateful to the amazing people who care for our mum. We passed these bells on the way to the hospice.”

Last month, Zoe revealed her mom’s cancer diagnosis in an Instagram post.

She said: “Heartbreakingly our beautiful mum Julia has been diagnosed with cancer.

“As many of you know from experience, these are extremely difficult times. Mum is incredibly brave.

“My brother Jamie and I are absolutely delighted with the brilliant doctors, nurses and support teams looking after mum.

“Thank you. Appreciation to our families and our extended family and friends at home and at work for their support at this time.”

The star previously spoke about his complex relationship with Julia after her parents’ separation.

Zoe previously said: “I haven’t seen my mum Julia for a few years – she was very young when she married my dad and gave birth to me.

“When they split up, I lived with my dad and my other ‘mum’, his wife Diane.”

But Zoe and Julia have become very close in recent years and Zoe supported her mum after her husband passed away in 2013.
